Basic Military Freefall Training HALO 1
Designed Purpose:
- Upgrade qualifications of specialists upon freefall parachute jumps
- Freefall skills and body position improvement
- Canopy piloting skills improvement to ensure safety upon jumps to the unequipped or limited landing zones
- Preparation to freefall parachute jumps in bad weather conditions (in the clouds and through the clouds, at wind speed up to 12 m/s)
Training program:
- Theoretical ground school
- Practice all parts of the jump
- Wind tunnel training
– 30 minutes
- Training jumps upon program of freefall and piloting skills improvement
– 12 jumps with the instructor
– 5 canopy piloting jumps
- Preparation to jumps in bad weather conditions
– 2 jumps in bad weather conditions/landing to unequipped landing zone
- Examining jump to demonstrate the skills gained during the training course
– 1 jump with the instructor, landing to unequipped landing zone
Student will graduate with 20 jumps
Wind Tunnel Time: 30 minutes
Course Duration:
10 days:
- 1 day of theoretical ground classes and wind tunnel training
- 1-2 days of rest and additional training
- 7-8 jumping days
Class Size: 4-12 students
Instructor Ratio Per Student: 1:4
HALO 1 Course Pre-Requisites:
- Candidates must have graduated MFF/AFF training course or foreign equivalent
- Background experience at least 25 freefall jumps
- Candidate must pass examination in health to get permission for parachute jumps
- Candidate’s weight must not exceed 120 kg
Gained Skills:
The graduate will be able to prepare and perform freefall parachute jump, select and follow the landing pattern in normal and bad weather conditions, daytime and dusk, within a group, to the limited/unequipped landing zone with dimensions 25*25 meters in size.
